Finance General Information

The Township of North Huron Finance Department is located in the municipal office in downtown Wingham.

The Finance Department is responsible for the annual budget process which is a combined effort between Council, finance department, senior staff and department heads. Other financial functions include payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, property tax billing and information, tax certificates, insurance, water and sewer billings and administrative functions.

The Finance Department works with Council and all departments to provide timely information throughout the year to ensure that the budget is monitored closely. The Finance Department is continually reviewing costs to promote savings and obtain the best value for each municipal dollar spent.

The Finance Department administers the Tile Drainage Loan application process and the issuing of Municipal Drainage Debentures.

The Department is responsible for the municipality’s annual Financial Statements, Financial Information Return (FIR), Municipal Performance Measures Program (MPMP) and the Section 300 Reports which are submitted to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Copies are available for the public to view.
