Electronic waste items will now be accepted at the Wingham Landfill Site in North Huron free of charge.

Please Note: Batteries, Lamps and Light fixtures/christmas lights are NOT accepted.

Location: The East Wawanosh landfill site is located at 39246 Moncrief Road (East Wawanosh Ward); travelling from Blyth North on London Road, turn left onto Moncrief Road and the landfill is in the middle of the third block on the right.

Hours of Operation:

First Saturday of each month 9 am - 4 pm

Materials accepted free of charge:  recyclable materials (blue box materials), clean wood, compostable materials, fill clay, topsoil or mixed soil, and metal.  These items must be separated and the Attendant on duty will direct you to the individual collection sites on location.  Unseparated loads will be turned away.

*Note:  All fridges, freezers, air conditioners, humidifiers, water coolers and any other appliances must be tagged FREON FREE.  

No tires are accepted at this site.
No e-waste is accepted at this site. 
No waste materials are accepted at this site outside of the regular open hours of service.

East Wawanosh Landfill Disposal Fees:

Schedule of Fees:

• $10.00 car trunk
• $25.00 pick-up truck
• $40.00 wagon
• $20.00 per cu. yard for trucks
• $10.00 per individual items (chesterfields, sofas, stoves, water heaters, mattresses, etc.)
• Minimum Fee $10.00 or up to 5 standard bags (40 lbs per bag) of household garbage. Each additional household bag $2.00.
• Fees will be doubled for loads of unsorted garbage.

$30.00 for opening gate after hours

Wingham Landfill Site - 39601 Reid Road

Location: The Wingham landfill site is located south of Wingham at 39601 Reid Road; travelling from Wingham South on London Road, turn right onto Reid Road and the landfill is on the left at Currie Line.

*NOTE: The Wingham landfill is no longer open on Thursday evenings

Materials accepted free of charge:  recyclable materials (blue box materials), clean wood, compostable materials, fill clay, topsoil or mixed soil, metal, and tires.  These items must be separated and the Attendant on duty will direct you to the individual collection sites on location.  Unseparated loads will be turned away.

*Note:  All fridges, freezers, air conditioners, humidifiers, water coolers and any other appliances must be tagged FREON FREE. 

Schedule of Fees:

• $82.00 per tonne (Weigh Scale on Site)
• $164.00-Waste from outside service area under ministerial order
• $14.00-Daily cover waste
• Under 100 kg - $10.00
• 101 kg - 265 kg - $20.00
• $12.00 per tonne for concrete and bricks (no re-bar).  Limit of 2 tandem loads of concrete or bricks.
• Fees will be doubled for loads of unsorted garbage.

Tires:

·         No charge when Ontario Tire Stewardship “Used Tire Program” is in effect.

$30.00 for opening gate after hours

All tipping fees must be paid at the landfill site.  Residents are advised that no refrigeration units will be accepted at the landfill sites unless they are tagged by a qualified technician.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, THE FOLLOWING WASTE MATERIALS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE BURN AREA:

• Carpet
• Vinyl Siding
• Asphalt Roofing Shingles
• Insulation (of any kind)
• Plastic Pails or Caulking Tubes
• Plastic Clothes Baskets or Plastic of any Kind
• Stryrofoam Products
• Domestic Garbage
• Railroad Ties and Treated Lumber

Loads will be strictly monitored to ensure that these items are not included in the burn pile to retain burning privileges at the landfill. Thank you for your cooperation.
