PARKS The Township of North Huron has a beautiful open space system. Our community parks include areas for organized sport and passive activity. Some beautiful parks include the Cruickshank Parks & Riverside Park, both in Wingham, the Belgrave Park and the Blyth Park. WALKING TRAILS WINGHAM The Wingham Community Trail runs from the east to west, meandering along the old abandoned rail bed, crossing the Maitland River and then makes a loop around the Turnberry Flood Plain Conservation Area to take you back. BLYTH The development of this trail has been a community project including a walking trail, fish habitat improvement area and a butterfly garden at the entrance. The trail is situated on the former CPR rail lines and runs adjacent to the Blyth Brook. BELGRAVE The Wawanosh Valley Conservation Area is an area highlighted be a scenic 3 km trail loop. The trail crosses the Belgrave Creek, passes through meadows with hedgerow plantings and down a steep hill to the cedar lowlands at the river. A boardwalk leads through the hemlock forest to the upland hardwoods or red pine plantation. Follow the edge of the forest back to the parking lot. SPORTS FIELDS BALL DIAMONDS The Township coordinates booking and maintenance services for ball diamonds in Wingham & Blyth. The fields are lit and all fields are available for scheduled team play and tournaments on evenings and weekends from mid may to mid September. Two ball diamonds are located in Wingham, two in Blyth and one in Belgrave. To book in Wingham or Blyth call 519-357-1208 Ext. 21. To book in Belgrave call Allen Walker at 519-357-3237. SOCCER FIELDS There are 4 soccer fields in Wingham, one soccer field in Blyth and one soccer field in Belgrave. These are available for team play and tournaments from May to the end of August.
