North Huron Seeks Further Public Input on Curbside Collection and Solid Waste Services
For Release: April 5th, 2017
In January, the Township surveyed residents on the solid waste service line to help format a Request for Proposals for curbside collection. The Township issued an RFP document that saw different formats of service bid. The preferred service was bi-weekly (every other week) curbside collection of both garbage and recycling across the entire Township, which could save the Township approximately $50,000 (or 50% of current costs for curbside collection).
North Huron is asking ratepayers to respond to this more detailed survey that will identify resident preferences related to this preferred service option, household organic waste and landfill hours. The survey was made available on April 5th and can be accessed online by visiting www.northhuron.ca. Hard copies of the survey also be picked up at the Township of North Huron Municipal Office, North Huron Recreation Complex, and Blyth Community Centre.
The survey will be held in the strictest confidence and be used for internal information purposes only. Completed surveys may be returned in person, mailed or submitted online to the Township of North Huron no later than Wednesday April 19th. Questions regarding the form can be directed to 519-357-3550 x. 128.
