NORTH HURON EXPLORES IDEA OF HOSTING TRANSFIGURED TOWN EVENT IN BLYTH

North Huron, ON – At the June 5th meeting of North Huron Council, staff were directed to work with the Organizers of Transfigured Town Inc. to explore the potential of holding their Festival of Wizardry event at the Blyth Campground. Reeve Neil Vincent has confirmed that “an agreement in principle was reached with the Transfigured Town Organizers instructing North Huron staff to explore the feasibility of holding the proposed Festival at North Huron’s event venue in Blyth.”

The Blyth Campground is a large event venue that hosts the Barn Dance Jamboree, and the Huron Pioneer Threshers Reunion that annually boasts an attendance of 10,000. “The venue is intended to house large events. With 40 acres of space, adjacent to the community centre, and a short 5 minute walk to Blyth’s Downtown, this self-contained site offers a safe, manageable venue for large scale events. We are optimistic that the venue will offer logistical benefits to the proposed Festival of Wizardry.” said Pat Newson, North Huron Director of Recreation and Facilities.

Blyth is located in Huron County just 15 minutes east of Goderich, on Ontario’s West Coast, a rural community situated 90 minutes north of London and 60 minutes east of Waterloo. Blyth has a tradition of hosting thousands of visitors each year to events at the Blyth Campground, and to the renowned Blyth Festival. Cowbell Brewing Company, a new state of the art craft brewery is set to open this summer.
