North Huron is part of Huron County where farm gate sales are greater than five Canadian provinces. Huron County is the leader in the production of soy beans, corn and hogs and is a producer of niche crops for speciality markets. Huron County is also home to a growing cluster of wineries and breweries. The well-known Cowbell Brewing Company is located at the edge of Blyth, Ontario.

The Wingham and District Hospital is a modern, progressive acute care facility providing medical, surgical, pediatric, chronic and rehabilitation beds and other services, including 24-hour emergency coverage.
Since 1971 Howson and Howson Limited have specialized in milling Canadian Western Amber Durum wheat. Their products include: Durum Semolina, Durum White Grain Semolina, Durum Whole Wheat Semolina and Durum 1st Clear Flour. The products produced are pasta, specialty breads, flat breads, whole wheat wraps and couscous.
Bi-Ax International Incorporated manufactures high quality packaging and compostable films from its 225,000 sq. ft ISO certified plant in Wingham. Bi-Ax also maintains complete on-site lab and research facilities and offer toll manufacturing opportunities for product development.
A Wingham-based and locally owned company Huron Geomatics Inc. (HGI) is a consultancy that focuses on high accuracy data collection, analysis and asset management. Their client-base spans many disciplines from municipal governments, electrical utilities, telecommunications, and the energy sector. HGI's projects have taken them across Canada and internationally.
