Bernie Bailey was elected as the Reeve for the Township of North Huron during the 2018 municipal election. Reeve Bailey brings previous experience as a Member of Council as he was elected as a Councillor for the Wingham Ward for the 2010-2014 term of Council. As the Reeve of North Huron, Reeve Bailey also serves as a County of Huron Councillor.
During the 2018-2022 term of Council, Reeve Bailey has been appointed to a number of North Huron Committees. Reeve Bailey serves as the Chair of the Committee of Adjustment, and is a member of the Cross Border Services Ad Hoc Committee and the Property Standards Committee. Through his position as Reeve, he also serves as an Ex-Officio member for the Economic Development and Recovery Committee and the North Huron Museum Committee.
Trevor Seip was elected as a Wingham Ward Councillor during the 2018 municipal election. At the Inaugural Meeting of Council, he was elected as the Deputy Reeve for the Township of North Huron by the sitting members of Council. Deputy Reeve Seip previously served as a Councillor for the Wingham Ward during the 2014-2018 term of Council. As the Deputy Reeve of North Huron, Deputy Reeve Seip also serves as an alternate County of Huron Councillor.
During the 2018-2022 term of Council, Deputy Reeve Seip has been appointed to sit on various North Huron Boards and Committees. Deputy Reeve Seip serves as the Chair for the Police Services Board, the Cross Border Services Ad Hoc Committee, and the Property Standards Committee. Deputy Reeve Seip also serves as a Member of the Court of Revision, the Committee of Adjustment, and the Wingham Landfill Site Board. Deputy Reeve Seip is also the North Huron Council Representative of the Wingham BIA Board of Management.
Paul Heffer was elected as a first-term Councillor for the Wingham Ward during the 2018 municipal election.
During the 2018-2022 term of Council, Councillor Heffer has been appointed to a number of North Huron Boards and Committees. Councillor Heffer serves as the Chair for the North Huron Museum Committee and is a Member of the Wingham Landfill Site Board, the Committee of Adjustment, and the Property Standards Committee. Councillor Heffer also serves as an alternate Court of Revision Member.
Councillor Heffer is also the North Huron Council Representative on various Committees throughout the community. These include: the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story Committee, the Wingham Town Hall Theatre Committee and the Sustainable Huron Committee. In 2020, Councillor Heffer was also appointed as the municipal representative for the central grouping on the Maitland Source Water Protection Authority Board.
Anita van Hittersum was elected as a first-term Councillor for the East Wawanosh Ward during the 2018 municipal election.
During the 2018-2022 term of Council, Councillor van Hittersum has been appointed to sit on various North Huron Boards and Committees. Currently, Councillor van Hittersum serves as a Member of the Economic Development and Recovery Committee, the Cross Border Services Ad Hoc Committee, the Property Standards Committee, the Committee of Adjustment, and the Court of Revision.
Councillor van Hittersum is also the North Huron Council Representative for the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority and the Wingham and Area Health Professional Recruitment Committee.
Chris Palmer was elected as a first-term Councillor for the East Wawanosh Ward during the 2018 municipal election.
During the 2018-2022 term of Council, Councillor Palmer has been appointed to a number of North Huron Boards and Committees. Councillor Palmer currently serves as a Member of the Committee of Adjustment, the Court of Revision, the Wingham Landfill Site Board, and the Property Standards Committee.
Councillor Palmer is also the North Huron Council Representative for the North Huron -Columbus Centre Advisory Committee and the Energy and Environment Committee.
Ric McBurney was elected as a first-term Councillor for the Blyth Ward during the 2018 municipal election.
During the 2018-2022 term of Council, Councillor McBurney has been appointed to a number of North Huron Boards and Committees. Councillor McBurney serves as a Member of the Police Services Board, the Blyth-Hullet Landfill Site Board, the Committee of Adjustment, and the Property Standards Committee.
Councillor McBurney is also the North Huron Council Representative for the Coalition for Huron Injury Prevention and the Water Protection Steering Committee.
Kevin Falconer was elected as a first-term Councillor for the Blyth Ward during the 2018 municipal election.
During the 2018-2022 term of Council, Councillor Falconer has been appointed to sit on various North Huron Boards and Committees. Currently, Councillor Falconer serves as a Member of the Economic Development and Recovery Committee, the Blyth-Hullet Landfill Site Board, the Committee of Adjustment, and the Property Standards Committee. Councillor Falconer is also the North Huron Council Representative of the Blyth BIA Board of Management.
From June of 2019 to February of 2020, Councillor Falconer also served as the Chair of the Ad Hoc Howson Bridge/Dam Committee, helping the Committee to satisfy their mandate to present a preferred course of action on the future of the Howson Bridge/Dam to Council.
