Discover Fun and Friendship with Our Child and Youth Recreational Programs!

Welcome to our vibrant community hub where kids and teens can unleash their creativity, build new skills, and forge lasting friendships! Our recreational programs are specially designed for the unique spirit of our small rural community, offering a variety of engaging activities that cater to all interests and age groups.

Check out babysitting courses, camps, Home Alone Safety for Kids, and swimming to name a few.

Registered Programs

Hockey For Fun

Get your kids off the couch and racing around the ice in this fun introduction to hockey program. It is structured, yet non-competitive, and no previous hockey experience is necessary.  CSA helmet, gloves, and stick are required. All genders welcome!

Location: North Huron Wescast Community Complex, 99 Kerr Drive, Wingham, ON N0G 2W0 - Ice

When: Fridays - January 10- February 28, 2025

Time: 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Ages: 7-13 years old

Cost: $95

PA Day Camps

North Huron Day Camps welcome and include all children!  Anticipate a mix of swimming, skating, crafts, games, and outdoor fun throughout the seasons.

Location: North Huron Wescast Community Complex, 99 Kerr Drive, Wingham, ON N0G 2W0

When: Friday, January 31,  Friday, May 2 and Friday, June 6, 2025

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Ages: 5-11 years old

Cost: $50 per session per child

Swimming Lessons

Learn to swim at the North Huron Wescast Community Complex's Aquatic Centre. Public and private swimming lessons are available for anyone 4 months old and up. We teach the Lifesaving Society's (LSS) Swim for Life program: Parent & Tot, Preschool, and Swimmer levels for those seeking a traditional swim lesson program. If you have a swimmer looking for a more challenging program, we also offer the LSS Junior Lifeguard Club and Swim Patrol.

Advanced Lifeguard Courses

The Lifesaving Society's training programs provide knowledge and skills for people to save themselves or others in an aquatic emergency. The courses below are the steps and the pre-requisites required to become an Instructor Lifeguard. A Lifeguard gains life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, responsibility and team work. If you have any questions about advanced courses please call (519) 357-1208 ext. 323.

FREE Drop-In Programs

Badminton - Indoor

Meet people in your community and play badminton in a non-competitive setting.  Come on your own or bring your whole family.  No previous experience necessary.

Age: 10+ years

Pickleball - Indoor 

Pickleball is a paddle ball sport that combines elements of badminton and table tennis. Come on your own or with a partner. No previous experience required.

Age: 16+ years

Racquetball (Modified) - Indoor 

Come on your own, or bring a partner, to meet people in your community by playing modified racquetball in a non-competitive setting. No previous experience required. 

Age: 16+ years

Paid Drop-In Programs

Aquafit

Our qualified staff are well trained and highly motivated to get you where you want to go on your fitness journey!

Classes include: Aquafit - Easy Does It, Aquafit - Deep & Shallow, AquaZumba, AquaStretch, etc.

Ages: 14+ years

Recreational Skates

Enjoy the great Canadian past time!  Get active in your community on your own, or with family and friends. 

Program happens at Blyth & District Community Centre and North Huron Wescast Community Complex.
