Lifesaving Levels & Challenges
Canadian Swim Patrol |
The Canadian Swim Patrol program is the on-ramp to lifeguarding. Ability is the only prerequisite. The Swim Patrol provides enriched training for those who are ready to go beyond learn-to-swim. Swim Patrol's three levels - Rookie, Ranger, and Star - continue to develop participants' swim strokes and provide the skill foundation that prepares them for success in the Society's Bronze medal awards.
Wednesdays: October 16 to December 4, 2024 - 6:00-6:45 p.m. |
Junior Lifeguard Club |
The Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) offers a unique aquatic alternative to traditional test-sheet-based aquatic programs and is independent of traditional award progressions. JLC is for quick learners and those between levels or programs who thrive in an energetic learning environment. Members can be any age between 8 and 15 years. The JLC stresses fun and aquatic skill development based on personal best achievement. Building on skills they already have, JLC members work to develop and improve swimming and other aquatic skills with emphasis on: swim and lifesaving knowledge, leadership and teamwork, community education, competition and personal fitness.
Saturdays: October 19 to December 7, 2024 - 10:45-11:45 a.m. |
Personal Best Swim Club |
Swimmers strive for their own personal best while they work to build endurance, learn new swimming skills, and improve swimming strokes. Individual progress will be tracked weekly and individual achievements will be recognized at the end of the session. A great introduction to competitive swimming! Swimmers will complete the facility swim test on the first night; from there groups will be divided into two swimming groups (shallow and deep). Goggles are recommended; they are available for purchase in the lifeguard office.
Mondays: October 15 to December 16, 2024, skip November 11 - 5:45-6:45 p.m. |
