Fees and Charges

The Township of North Huron is allowed to impose various types of fees and charges. These include administrative and user fees and special benefit assessments, but only to cover the actual cost of issuing a permit, providing a service, or funding an improvement. Municipal charges include municipal service fees, surcharges on fees, penalties, interest, property rates, and other municipal taxes, levies, and duties, as well as any other charges in terms of Legislation, Policy, or an agreement including Sundry Charges and Collection charges. The “Fees and Charges” By-law includes; fees for public services, including municipal utilities such as water, sewer, and garbage collection, facility rentals, and other municipal services.
