When to apply for an entrance application
- All new access points for laneways, driveways and field entrances require an entrance permit. The completed form, deposit fee and application fee must be submitted to the Public Works Department for approval. No work must occur until the application has been approved.
- The Public Works Department may restrict the placement of an entrance or access point onto the road in the interest of public safety. New entrances must be located in accordance with all local Municipal Zoning By-Laws.
- County road entrance applications must be filed with the Huron County GIS Services Department.
- A monetary fee and deposit fee are associated with entrance permits. Current fees and charges.
- Fees can be paid by mail or in person. If paying by mail please send your completed application, a five-hundred (500) dollar deposit, and payment by cheque, payable to the Township of North Huron. Mailing address is PO Box 90, 274 Josephine Street, Wingham Ontario, N0G 2W0. In person payment methods are cash, debit or cheque.
- The full deposit fee will be returned to the property owner upon a successful final inspection by the Public Works Department.
